Keith for 300

Remembering Keith 10 years later.

Today is the 10th anniversary of the death of my youngest brother. Keith passed away shortly after midnight on April 7, 2009. I had just started blogging a few months before Keith died and over the next year, several posts were dedicated to him and his memory. Over the next few weeks and months I plan on sharing some of these posts. Today’s post originally appeared on Nov 11, 2009 on what would have been his 39th birthday.

Several prominent people also dies on April 7th. They include …

P.T. Barnum – Circus Organizer and hoaxer. Died April 7, 1891 at age 80. The saying “A sucker born every minute” is often attributed to him although it may have been uttered by a contemporary.

Henry Ford – Automotive Pioneer. Died April 7, 1947 at age 83. Streamlined auto industry.

Johnny Hart – Cartoonist. Died April 7, 2007 at age 80. Created the comics strips B.C. and Wizard of Id. Stirred up controversy with his highly evangelical Easter Sunday panels in B.C.

Speaking of Easter, I found one reference on the Internet that Jesus Christ died on April 7th.

If that is indeed historically accurate, I find it very encouraging that Keith died on the same day that His savior died for His sins and those of the world. Because of Christ’s death and subsequent Resurrection, I will one day see Keith again in Heaven.

  1. I’m sorry for your loss. My deepest sympathies. My older brother Jim passed away in July of 1999. While the pain of his loss is not as sharp, it’s always there. Writing about him does help though. I hope the same for you. Keeping your brother with you in writing and memories. Until you meet again.
